Calender inventors lied to us

The Calendar helps us to count days, weeks, months and years. In truth it helps us stay organized because we have chosen to believe and live with and by it.  Calendar made us believe that Today is the first day of this year. But I can't see any evidence of the first. What I am seeing is a mere belief in abstract. The sun, day and night remains the same.

Benue Governor pardons 12 inmates (prisoners)

Nigeria precisely has been a state where moneybags are lionized while hard workers wail. Top politicians loot billions of money and go free without a strong Institution to punish them. But the Nigerian prison yards are harboured majorly by the poor  that were sentenced by stealing a mere bottle of beverage, mobile phones, biscuits and other insignificant things. On this day, (31st December, 2023) the Governor of the Benue state, Rev. father Hyacinth Alia changed the misfortune of 12 prisoners, by granting them pardon....

7 Trends to watch in 2024

We approaching the end point of the year 2023. We are witnessing intensification of globalization. Unless there is another major global crisis that surpasses the 2008 Global Financial Crisis, globalization dynamics will further intensify. With the ICT revolution still in full swing, we can expect in 2024 going forward, the emergence of new communication devices that are not even imaginable today. Globalization id intensifying digitalization of social relationships. The dark side of this dynamic is the decline of face-to-face interactions and physical contact–two basic human qualities that foster a strong sense of community among people.  Here are  7 trends to observe in the year 2024.  1. The Long Tail Persists : As the global economy has gone on long tai, the future of business remain the selling of less of more, such that micro ggs online would dominate and recieve hits. 2. Marketing with Psychographics will dominate: Marketing that would earn customer loyalty and relationship must

Understanding Semiotics

Semiotics helps us to understand signs and symbols and their interpretation. It explores how meaning is created and communicated through various systems of signs. Semiotics has several concepts including: Signs and Symbols :    - Signs : Elements (or signs) that stand for something else. Hearing a sound of footsteps at midnight around your house......Signs are divided into "signifiers" (the form the sign takes) and "signified" (the concept the sign represents).    - Symbols : Signs with culturally agreed-upon meanings, often arbitrary in their association with the signified. Semiotic Elements:    - Syntagm : The arrangement of signs in a sequence. Example, a banks operate in buildings, offer account opening, fund withdrawal, ATM, loan and payment of utilities.    - Paradigm : The set of alternative signs that could occur at a particular point in a syntagm. A mobile or digital bank operates banking but doesn't require buildings. 3. Semiotic Modalities:   Linguist

Looking up to

"Looking up to" someone refers to admiring or respecting them, often considering them as a role model. It implies seeking inspiration, guidance, or motivation from their qualities, achievements, or character. Looking up to someone can be a source of inspiration and motivation. Is there a specific person you admire or aspire to be like, or listen to? All these aren't what I am talking about. What I am saying is: can your, your organization, your neighborhoodot colleagues depend on you for a specific counsel so they could find ways forward? Can the world look up to you and search for a skill you already have to get a problem solved going forward? It matters when someone looking up to you!

Scent matters

What is in this for innovators? The lesson for innovators is that appealing to the sense of smell can significantly enhance product experiences. Developing products with pleasant scents or incorporating aromas that align with consumer preferences can create a positive and memorable impression. Innovators should recognize the influence of sensory elements, like fragrance, in consumer perception and strive to integrate such features into their products for a more immersive and satisfying user experience. Scent matters. Malizia and other perfumes  great examples.

Speed matters

The lesson for innovators is that speed can be a compelling factor for consumers. Products or services that offer faster solutions, whether in terms of performance, delivery, or efficiency, tend to attract and retain customers. In a fast-paced world, prioritizing speed in innovation can enhance consumer satisfaction and drive purchasing decisions. Speed matters: Swift offers 4G LTE internet services. Opay leverages 5G technology to deliver faster fun fund transfer. With this, Opay has acquired over 40 million Nigerians, having the app onboarded.

Packaging in colourful packs drives markets

What is lesson for innovators? Good packaging is a silent salesman. The lesson for innovators is that creative packaging can significantly influence customer appeal. Utilizing vibrant and unique packaging, like a colorful tubes for yogurts, captures attention and enhances the product's marketability. Innovation in presentation can be a powerful tool in attracting and retaining customers.

Innovate with trends

Years ago, Eat-on-the go trend led yoplait developed gogurt. Indeed, the "eat on the go" trend inspired Yoplait to innovate, resulting in the development of Go-Gurt. Recognizing the consumer need for convenient, portable snacks, Yoplait's Go-Gurt capitalized on the trend by offering yogurt in squeezable tubes, making it easy for people to enjoy yogurt while on the move. This adaptation to consumer lifestyles showcases the importance of aligning product development with evolving trends and preferences. What is the lesson for innovators? The lesson for innovators is to stay attuned to evolving consumer trends and adapt products to fit changing lifestyles. Yoplait's success with Go-Gurt highlights the significance of aligning innovation with the "eat on the go" trend, demonstrating that meeting the demands of convenience and mobility can lead to product success in the market. Innovators should continuously analyze consumer behaviors and preferences to create pr

Stories that win

Sharing a problem with a wrong professional

A male local movie actor was facing wahala (serries of problems) in his marriage. He went to a local TV stations to discuss the matter. The TV presenters were only busy asking him to talk more on the issue. The actor ended  up embarrassing himself, exposing his family and creating future insults for his wife and the children  . What is the lesson? Never take your little child to a gynaecologist but a pediatrician when he gets sick. If you are seeking a marketing solution from an accountant when your marketing sucks, that amplifies  the problem (the wahala).

Christmas , Air and Water.

Every year, on the 25th of December, the christian world connect to mark and share joyfully the gladness of the season: love, gifts, messages and wishes. It's good It's fine And it's nice. Worth celebrating the birth of the Messiah, because Jesus Christ was so generous until he gave himself in our place. But have we for once celebrated the air we breath or water that keeps us alive? Happy Christmas!

Pushing the blame on the devil

Religious has so dominated our minds that we find ourselves accusing the devils almost always. We push the blame on the devil when we have made some wrong decisions that: Rob us progress Put us on Financial weak zone Make us feeling to quit the marriage Getting a job that bring us unhappiness And more. The scorpion in this photo was killed by an African woman beside her bed. She came on the social media accussing the devil for presence of the scorpion. Her religious minded followers joined commenting and insulting the devil. Empirically, the house might not have been fumigated for some extended times. Secondly, it might be a new, developing estate surrounded by bushes that enables the scorpion to live in her room. Blaming the devil unjustly, to me, is a blind religion

Stories we live by

In recent days a political crisis begun in state in Africa. A fight between a Successor and his predecessor (governors). After some weeks, 27 members of the state congress decamped to the opposition party. Only five members were left to support and work with the state governor. Our anger, and a move to prevent the opposite from gathering to impeach the sitting governor, the governor orders that state Assembly complex be demolished. Five bulldozers were deployed. The building went down. In few hours the state governor presented 2024 budget before the loyal 5 members of the congress.  Press conference followed. The press asked the sitting governor if he could explain the forces that led to the demolition of the congress building. Then He said: " He saw that the state congress building had worn out, needing renovation.... that was his reason for deployed buildozers to do the needful ". The fact is everyone tells stories. But the ones we choose to believe are those that matter is

Instead visiting a doctor

Do this: When you eat food or drink a kind of beverage, that makes you notice or experience a symptom of a kind of disease or sickness. Do you need a doctor?  Not now! Not immediately  Stop eating the triggering foods. Avoid drinking the triggering beverages. And the symptoms would checkout!

Third Talents

The third has some skills that keep them poor and few individuals rich: 1. Home video production 2. Singing aimless songs 3. All forms of entertainment 4. Zero passion for better technologies. With these, the third flourishes in poverty.

Pay, see and give a seed

This seems a religion but it works. I have practiced it. Two of my friends too.  1. Pray: Talk to the almighty power above human about your desires that you don't have sufficient abilities or finance to address. 2. See: open your mind eyes to see and imagine how you want it accomplished. Lighten up your imagination. See it done from within you. Settle it in your mind. 3. Give a seed-offering: Pick a small amount of money and put it in an envelop. Attach your faith to it and thank God. Give it to beggers or to a humanitarian organizations to support expand their works.  Watch and see the result coming!

Stimulus-Response

Every stimulus prompts us to respond. This means there is space between stimulus and response. In this gap, we need will-power to choose how we respond: Reply those that have insulted and criticized us or leave them with their opinions. Go to the wine bar to spend that little saving on drinking or keep it for the next better expenditure. Concede defeat when lost a poll / election or refusing to quit inspite of public rejection. Choosing to feel sad and remain in low a spirit in blue days/when we're hurt, or rejoicing to shut the sorrow down. We have freedom to choose a course of action, even in the face of ambiguities, complexities and difficulties. Our growth lies in how we utilize opportunity cost: sacrifice and trade-offs.

Governor of the Bemue State Nigeria, Rev. Father Hyacinth Alia has made his people proud of his leadership

The emergence of Rev Fr. Hyacinth Iormem Alia as the governor of Benue State is a rare opportunity presented to the masses of the state to witness unprecedented dividends of good governance; since the commencement of the 4th Republic (1999 to date).   Benue, a state in Nigeria richly endowed with both human, and natural resources has over the years suffered outright neglect in all facets due to a lack of genuine will, and commitment to doing the right things on the part of her leaders. IF YOU ARE PASSIONATE ABOUT AGRICULTURAL BUSINESS INVESTMENT, AND OTHERS YOU CAN VISIT BENUE STATE IN NIGERIA TO FOR FEASIBILITY STUDIES.  As a result of this, a significant number of the Benue masses have in the past lost confidence, and trust in successive administrations in the state. However, the hope of the people was rekindled when the reverend gentleman decided to vie for the office of the governor of Benue State in the 2023 governorship election. A project which started like a joke gradually gain

Change makes people rejoice but success creates enemies

In Nigeria especially the state of Benue, it's apparent that politicians lie alot. They promise the citizens heavens on earth but will rarely accomplish their promises.  On the contrary, one man chooses to change the story and experiences. His name is Rev. Father Hyacint Alia  For more than three decades the Benue state in Nigeria suffered uncared leadership: non-payment of the civil servant salary, bad roads, zero electricity, poor transportation and healthcare facilities, inspite of billions of money received from federal allocation for development and others. In the last six months, Rev. Father Hyacinth Alia won the gubernatorial election. The entire Benue citizens were agog. Between May 2023 and this date, the Governor has surprised the citizens with these programs: 1. 100 18 seaters buses to convey people to their various destinations 2. 16 roads reconstructed into local communities 3. 20 streets rehabilitated in the state capital 4. Installation of MRI machines and other gr

Maximizing a small income

Many times we find it hard to maximize mini income: small salary, commission etc. But growing a small income involves a combination of budgeting, saving, and exploring additional income streams.  In my opinion, these could help: Start by creating a budget to track expenses and identify areas to cut back.  Save consistently, even if it's a small amount.  Look for ways to increase your skills or explore side gigs to supplement your income.  Consider investing in your education or learning new skills that could lead to higher-paying opportunities.  Networking and seeking mentorship can also open doors to new possibilities. With these you should be able to maximize a small income.

Carbalnocracy vs Lootocracy

Carbalnocracy is a system of government where carbals and their allies hijacked and manage everything that matters within a sovereign country. Carbalnocrats use every means to frustrate oppositions and never care to pay attention to the needs of the people that voted them into offices. Carbals also practice Lootocracy: a system where  public office holders make voluntary efforts to loot public treasuries with insatiable appetites without fear,  and anti-graft institutions responsible to punish criminals were bought, and are weaken at best  to check their crime tendencies and actions. Carbalnocracy and Lootocracy have been practiced in Nigeria and other African countries for many decades till now.  However, many are hoping, unforseen instruments of revolution may chance to drum battle hymn of war, to revolt against tyranny, to overthrow the imposed-carbals, leading to the persecution of the nobility: a rebel to reform the system. New nations would emerge and proud to proclaim their eman

A conversation with my mind

Today I spent less than an hour pondering and having conversations with my mind: about the worsening economic situations in the emerging world. In a sad mood, my mind was like a river, amber-tinted in the shadow of it's bank Our conversation was around some changing fortines, as Lives in the emerging markets have gone bananas. People now  live in abyss of hopeless.  Run-away inflation is speeding. Poverty is on rapid climb. Politicians are lying machines. They promised their people heavens on earth. They gave them moonshines. But many have failed to accomplish their promised accomplishments.  Their subjects are disgruntled, disheveled and disillusioned. Many, many have died and their bones are crying their graves. Politicians, especially in the poorer world frame policies that chase proteins away from meals,  and other nutrients have vamoused from family menu. They are curled attrocious cobras: gentle without but dubious within. Their typical households never complete without a hos

Things that keep you unfree

Excessive holiness and self-claim righteousness inspired by religious truth-claims Age-lomg beliefs constructed socially and languages by culture. Approval-seeking, because you like to look like or behave the way other people like you do. Fear of what may chance, and Worry aboutq what may happen tomorrow. If you can let go of all of these useless factors and emotions, you will enjoy more peace living on planet earth before you die. Because you surely die!

Decisions are influenced by experiences and tensions

Every human being make decisions. But all decisions are made by experiences and tensions of urgency. In the temperate regions, people wear sweaters because of cold. A rice farmer in my local villa quickly harvested his rice recently because his daughter's tuition was over due and must be paid before writing exams The governor of the state of Benue bought 100 18-seater buses for the citizens to ply at lower T-fair because he found with empathy that the increase in fuel price was causing untold hassles. The fall of Kabul in 2021 was influenced by several factors, including the rapid withdrawal of U.S. and NATO forces, the Afghan government's weak military capabilities, political corruption, and the Taliban's effective military strategy and territorial gains.  The combination of these elements contributed to the swift collapse of the Afghan government and the Taliban's takeover of the capital. However, Ashraf Ghani quickly ran of the office,  fled for safety  because Talib

Before you preach on fornication read this

The Holier than thous and the preachers of the gospel of critics are abound. They have told us to never appreciate the beauty of a woman, that looking at a woman lostfuly is a sin. But we covet or wish to get those: Beautiful Cars Well designed Phones Elegant houses and wedding gowns Even some of the suits the preacher wore to the altar to preach sermons were Italian - well designed. These were fine. These were not sin. But when we look at a beautiful woman that is eyeful and appreciate the fact that she was cute and lovely, we have become sinners. The Talib and some extremists might even wish to unplug your eyes so it doesn't exist to commit same sin further. These bigots and preachers had forgotten that our eyes were made to see, behold and appreciate. The ears hear and listens. So the sexual organs urinate and have sex. Nothing more. Nothing less. I think if an effort is made to abuse or alter some purposes the result is frustrion.

Thinking 101 has these lessons in stock for you

There 15 valuable lessons Woo-Kyoung presented in his book:  "Thinking 101: How to Reason Better to Live Better". Scroll down slowly to read and grab the points he  powdered. 1. Understand the cognitive traps that can lead to poor decisions. Ahn identifies several cognitive traps that can lead to poor decision-making, such as confirmation bias, sunk cost fallacy, and the planning fallacy. By understanding these traps, we can avoid falling prey to them. 2. Develop a healthy skepticism. Questioning information and assumptions is essential for critical thinking. Don't be afraid to doubt what you hear or read, and always seek out multiple sources of information. 3. Embrace uncertainty. The world is a complex and uncertain place, and we don't always have all the answers. Embrace uncertainty and be comfortable with not knowing everything. 4. Think probabilistically. Probability is a powerful tool for understanding the world around us. Learn to think about risks and rewards

Should a blogger blogs on a single topic?

Some people think blog posts would focus on a niche-topic. I may not be rigght but my option is NO. A blog is known to a a regularly updated website or online platform where persons or  individuals or groups share their thoughts, information, and experiences in a conversational style.  Blog posts are usually displayed in reverse chronological order, with the newest content appearing first, but the content mustn't be niche-concentration.  Blogs cover a wide range of topics, including personal experiences, hobbies, news, and professional expertise. Whether a blogger should focus on a simple topic depends on their goals and target audience. Simple topics can be effective if they resonate with a broad audience and are presented in an engaging way.  However, niche or specialized topics can also attract a dedicated audience. Ultimately, it's essential for a blogger to choose a topic they are passionate about and can consistently create quality content for. The key is to provide value

Business Kinetizing

If you were in a physics class, a draw bowl and arrow could be used as an example of potential energy. When the arrow is sprang into action, the energy goes kinetic. This analogy helps us to see that every business possesses some potential energies that if brought to live could create further wealth: 1. An existing high school could rent out the premises to Professional education operators for weekend learning. 2.  Lotto brand owners could sign up agents ready to operate under flower trees at neighborhood. 3. Car boots could be used to display few samples wears for passersby to see and buy 3. A fastfood restaurant could create school feeding program offering breakfast and lunches for kids. Kinetizing is about leveraging a business potentials. Kinetizing made Microsoft, Intel, Google and others billionaires.

Mataphors and what we buy

Metaphors are infinite, just like our imaginations. Human beings think, recognize, assess, evaluate and buy in terms of metaphors. We buy AMATEM because we believe it HITS malaria die. We premium for a house in a developing zone because because marketer told us it's a NEW ESTATE. Pampers diapers sell a lot because mothers believe it helps their babies with DRY NIGHT A friend told me he check in a hotel last weekend because someone said the guest room is GOOD and CHEAP Gino PARTY JOLLOF tomatoes paste sells crazy because neighborhood celebrates parties often. Which metaphor is in your brain?  Go make one!

Our fleshy imagination

We are able with imaginative flesh: To create and make To build and establish To design To paint To sell To acquire To rearrange and manipulate .... an uneding number of elements - perceptions of the nature or the universe - but only after they've been perceived by us through a distorted, filtering intelligence that pre-alters reality.

No one is lazy

Laziness is about our mind. Laziness only exists when our mind is not zealous, or when the mind is seriously unserious about the thing someone outside us think we should do or should have done. When mind becomes program and get zealous towards an objective, no amount of barrier would be strong enough to break or triumph over....in order to reach such objective. Check a man you think was lazy. Check his interest and unmindfulness in pursuing the goal, or his less zeal to get the job down. Laziness is about the construction of our minds!

Be extra careful in your response to social media updates

The rise of social media has made hoaxes ubiquitous. A hoax is a deceptive or misleading act or statement created to deceive, trick, or mislead people into believing something false or fictitious. Hoaxes can take various forms, such as false rumors, fake news, fabricated stories, or practical jokes intended to create confusion or stir up emotions.  They are often spread through various mediums, including the internet, social media, or traditional media outlets. Hoaxes are typically designed to achieve a specific purpose, such as causing panic, gaining attention, or promoting a particular agenda. It's essential to be critical and verify information to avoid falling for hoaxes, especially on social media.

Capitalism and AI is making us less human

Humanity is our collective human race or the qualities and attributes that make humans distinct. These qualities include our compassion, empathy, and the capacity for reason and cooperate.  It also encompasses our shared experiences, our values, and the way we interact with one another and the world around us. While AI reduces our abilities to think deeper to create, Capitalism made us sell breath by offering oxygen services through healthcare systems.

Skill vs Relationship

Getting a new low-level job requires some skills as an unction  to functions. But climbing to a position of a minister, a director, a CEO etc requires relationship. Skills are important, but good relationship with people in authorities matters better.

Dogs bark because they're dogs

Instinct is an innate, automatic, and unlearned behavior or response that animals, including humans, exhibit in response to specific stimuli.  These behaviors are typically hardwired into an organism's genetics and are essential for survival and reproduction.  Instincts are not learned through experience or taught but are rather a product of evolution, helping organisms adapt to their environments and carry out vital functions such as hunting, mating, and self-preservation. Cattle doesn't drive a car because it doesn't have the instinct neither can they learn it.

Is our reasoning logical or intuitive?

Intuition:Intuition works quickly. It is instinctive, and often subconscious form of understanding or decision-making.  Intuition relies on a "gut feeling" or a sense of knowing without explicit, structured reasoning.Intuition can be influenced by personal experiences, emotions, and subconscious knowledge.  A bus driver refused to ply a macadamized road the previous night because he felt that could help to avoid kidnappers and robbers that often operate at the route, especially at night. Logics, on the other hand, is a structured, rational, and conscious process of reasoning and problem-solving.  Logic follows rules, principles, and a systematic approach to arrive at conclusions based on evidence and premises.Logic is often associated with critical thinking and making decisions based on facts and sound arguments. Putting finger in a fire has same consequence universally, because fire doesn't recognize race, colour or wealth status. It burns. To cap it all, intuition is mo

Critical Thinking

Critical thinking helps us analyze, evaluate, and make reasoned judgments about information, arguments, and situations.  It also enable us to apply logical and systematic thinking to understand complex problems, make informed decisions, and solve issues.  What are some aspects of critical thinking? 1. Analysis is involved : Critical thinkers break down information and ideas into their components to understand them better. They consider the context, evidence, and assumptions behind these elements. 2. Evaluation is needful : Critical thinkers assess the quality and reliability of information and arguments. They question sources, evidence, and reasoning to determine credibility. 3. Problem-Solving also :  Critical thinking is essential for solving problems and making decisions. It helps in identifying possible solutions, weighing their pros and cons, and choosing the most appropriate course of action. 4. It requires Open-Mindedness : Critical thinkers are open to different perspectives an

A coiled attrocious cobra

A coiled atrocious cobra is gentle without but dubious within. An addled brain wag knows that a slight increase in fuel price chases protein from the family menu. A most talented idiot is also aware of political decisions made by cads disguised as the distinguished excellencies. A single policy of a dubiou cobra makes the citizen wallow in abyss of hopelessness

Professor Jahula and Student Anderson

Anderson a student of political philosophy at the University of Yakahuhu (a  pseudonym) had attended many philosophy classes but could not grasp the conepts. They were below the threshold of his comprehension. For this reason, he decided to visit Professor Jahula in his lone office to ask some few questions. Kindly read the dialogue below for details. Student Anderson: Good afternoon Prof. I believe you are fine fettle. How is your battle for  academic supremacy? Rosy, I posit. Please I have attended many of your classes on political philosophy but find it hard to grasp some concepts. Could you help? Professor Jahula : Good afternoon, Mr. Anderson. I've noticed you seem to be struggling with the concepts we've covered in our Political Philosophy class. Can you tell me what's been particularly challenging for you? Student Anderson : Yes Prof. I appreciate your concern. The truth is, I'm finding it quite difficult to grasp the essence of your teaching. It seems like we

Is social media a problem?

The answer is no. No because: Pastors are using them to preach gospels  Sellers are using them to sell more And entertainers reach out to their audiences the more. And the answer is also yes. Yes because: Criminals are using the social media to commit more crime. So do terrorists enhance their evil connections. Even though as the international system  has not a single Government to, enhanced strict policies are needed to checkmate crimes and other vices on the social media.

Radical Islamism and the Clash of Civilizations

Historically, radical Islamism emerged in the 20th century, influenced by various historical events. The end of colonial rule in many Muslim-majority countries, the Cold War, and the Iranian Revolution in 1979 all played significant roles. Ideologically, radical Islamism draws inspiration from extremist interpretations of Islam and  hatred against western civilizations. This interpretation often rejects secularism and seeks to establish Islamic states governed by strict Sharia law. The concept of violent jihad, or holy war, has been a central component of radical Islamism. Some groups and individuals have used this idea to justify acts of terrorism, as a war against secularism. Influential figures like Sayyid Qutb, an Egyptian Islamist, and later Osama bin Laden, played pivotal roles in promoting radical Islamist ideologies and justifying violence as a means to achieve their goals. The Afghan Jihad against the Soviet Union in the 1980s attracted many radical Islamist fighters and serve

Scientific Truth-Claims

Scientists generally agree that germs, which include bacteria, viruses, and fungi, play a significant role in causing infectious diseases. They've studied germs extensively and have developed a comprehensive understanding of how they can spread, infect humans, and be controlled.  The field of microbiology and related research has also provided valuable insights into germs' behavior, transmission, and the development of vaccines and treatments to combat them. Scientists have advised us that: Maintaining good hygiene and vaccination are among the primary measures recommended to protect against germs and the diseases they can cause. Here are what I hate about scientific truth-claims:  Eating unboiled meat is risky but eating fresh plants within salad meal is healthy. A fresh plant meal doesn't have virus or bacteria to transmit diseases. Some scientists said: Rats spread laser fever.  I totally disagree with this assertion for the fact that some of our great ground parents liv

If you think Israel was wrong, read Amos 1:6

Amos 1:6 says: Thus saith the LORD; For three transgressions of Gaza, and for four, I will not turn away the punishment thereof; because they carried away captive the whole captivity, to deliver them up to Edom: Amos 1:7 But I will send a fire on the wall of Gaza, which shall devour the palaces thereof: Amos  1:8 And I will cut off the inhabitant from Ashdod, and him that holdeth the sceptre from Ashkelon, and I will turn mine hand against Ekron: and the remnant of the Philistines shall perish, saith the Lord GOD.

Making a difference with Semiotics

Do you want make a difference?  If yes, semiotics could help! Semiotics is the study of signs, symbols, and their interpretation. It's a field of study that explores how meaning is created and communicated through various symbols, including words, images, gestures, and more.  Semioticians examine how signs and symbols function in different contexts and how they convey information and convey cultural, social, and psychological meanings.  This field is often used to analyze and understand language, communication, and the way humans make sense of the world through signs and symbols. Here is how meaning is created and differences could be made through Semiotics: The third world vs the developed world Greek yogurts vs French Yogurts  Italian wine vs Spanish wine Italian suits vs British suits  Asian foods vs African foods Blue Gate vs white Gate Instant Tea vs Slim Tea 4-week MBA vs 2-year MBA program Presidential election vs National Assembly eletion This subcategorizations have bounda

Biases becloud reasoning

Once upon a time, in a small town nestled between rolling hills, there lived a wise old woman named Eliza. She was known far and wide for her exceptional reasoning abilities. People from all around sought her advice on various matters, especially when disputes arose. One sunny morning, the townspeople gathered in the town square, embroiled in a heated argument. A shiny new statue was to be placed in the center of the square, and they couldn't agree on its design. Half of them wanted a statue of a great explorer who had once passed through their town, while the other half insisted on a statue of a local hero who had saved many lives. Eliza, hearing about the commotion, decided to mediate. She asked each group to present their arguments. The first group argued passionately about the explorer's global significance and how the statue would draw tourists and prosperity to the town. The second group, equally passionate, recounted the local hero's deeds and how he had selflessly p

Theological imagination

Someone was listening to a song rhymes and rythms, then this song was anointed. I marvelled at him. I Marvelled because of the relationship between anointing and the sonorosity of the song. I had once surprised at the catholic queued for Holy water. I got surprised because of one question: How has a clean water suddenly holy?

Forte

In the context of drug naming,  drug makers often used "forte"  to indicate that a medication is a stronger or higher-dose version of the standard or regular medication.  It implies that the product contains a greater concentration of the active ingredient or is intended for more potent therapeutic effects.  For example, you might encounter medication names like "PainRelief Forte" or "Vitamin C Forte," where "Forte" suggests increased strength or dosage compared to the non-forte version of the same medication or supplement.  It's a way to distinguish between different formulations or versions of a drug. In the context of medicine, a "forte" typically refers to an individual's strong or specialized area of expertise. For example, a doctor might have a forte in cardiology, meaning they have specialized knowledge and skills in the field of heart health and cardiovascular medicine. Fortes in medicine can vary widely, covering areas

Derekian Chauvinism

Years ago, Derek Chauvin unintentionally killed George Floyd by kneeling on his neck at an arrest point. The US justice misnamed his action a "Third degree murder", as if killing operates at boiling point measured in Celsius scale. Chauvinism is a word used to describe excessive and often irrational loyalty or bias towards a particular group, such as one's own gender, nationality, or beliefs.  It can manifest as an unjust belief in the superiority of one's own group and the denigration or discrimination against other groups. For example, sexism, nationalism, and religious chauvinism are specific forms of this behavior when it relates to gender, nationality, or religion, respectively. Chauvinism can be harmful and contribute to discrimination and prejudice. However, Derek Chauvin's version was different. Angry protesters branded it as an unjust action directed at the black-race, based on the US historical records of division among colour-lines. It was heuristics, a

Show kindness to even strangers

Once upon a time, in a bustling city filled with people rushing about their daily lives, I found myself on a fateful day that would forever change my destiny. It was a warm, sunny morning when I decided to take a leisurely stroll in the city park, seeking solace in the tranquil surroundings. As I meandered along the winding paths, my attention was suddenly drawn to a commotion near a park bench. There, a lady was writhing in agony, suffering from a severe seizure. Passersby gathered, unsure of what to do, their faces filled with concern. Without hesitation, I rushed forward, my heart pounding with adrenaline. I knelt beside the lady and carefully placed her head on my lap to prevent any harm. Her body convulsed uncontrollably, and I could see the fear in her eyes. Instinctively, I remembered my first aid training. I gently turned her onto her side to ensure she wouldn't choke on her own saliva. As the minutes passed like hours, I whispered comforting words, assuring her that help w
