Happiness is a choice: How to be happy everyday

Top up your skills; learn how to handle life situations at Ransford  If you control your thoughts, as your feelings come from your thoughts, then you are capable of controlling your own feelings.  You control your feelings by working on the thoughts that preceded them. Simply put, you believe that things or people make you unhappy, but this is not accurate. You make yourself unhappy because of the thoughts that you have about the people or things in your life.  Becoming a free and healthy person involves learning to think differently. Once you can change your thoughts, your new feelings will begin to emerge, and you will have taken the first step on the road to your personal freedom. To look at the syllogism in a more personal light, let’s consider the case of Cal, a young executive who spends most of his time agonizing over the fact that his boss thinks he is stupid. Cal is very unhappy because his boss has a low opinion of him. But if Cal didn’t know that his boss thought he was st

Choose how you’ll Feel

Join Ransford to Start leaning on mobile immediatly Feelings are not just emotions that happen to you. Feelings are reactions you choose to have. If you are in charge of your own emotions, you don’t have to choose self-defeating reactions. Once you learn that you can feel what you choose to feel, you will be on the road to “intelligence”—a road where there are no bypaths that lead to N.B.D.’s. This road will be new because you’ll see a given emotion as a choice rather than as a condition of life. This is the very heart and soul of personal freedom. You can attack the myth of not being in charge of your emotions through logic. By using a simple syllogism (a formulation in logic, in which you have a major premise, a minor premise and a conclusion based upon the agreement between the two premises) you can begin the process of being in charge of yourself, both thinkingly and emotionally. Logic—Syllogism MAJOR PREMISE: Aristotle is a Man. MINOR PREMISE: All men have facial hair. CONCLUSIO

Market Offerings—Products, Services, and Experiences

Top up your skills at Ransford Consumers’ needs and wants are fulfilled through market offerings—some combination of products, services, information, or experiences offered to a market to satisfy a need or a want. Market offerings are not limited to physical products. They also include services—activities or benefits offered for sale that are essentially intangible and do not result in the ownership of anything. Examples include banking, airline, hotel, retailing, and home repair services. More broadly, market offerings also include other entities, such as persons, places, organizations, information, and ideas. For example, San Diego runs a “Happiness Is Calling” advertising campaign that invites visitors to come and enjoy the city’s great weather and good times—everything from its bays and beaches to its downtown nightlife and urban scenes. And the Ad Council and the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration created a “Stop the Texts. Stop the Wrecks.” campaign that markets the

Customer Needs, Wants, and Demands

Top up your skills with Advanced Certificate in Marketing at Ransford The most basic concept underlying marketing is that of human needs. Human needs are states of felt deprivation. They include basic physical needs for food, clothing, warmth, and safety; social needs for belonging and affection; and individual needs for knowledge and self-expression. Marketers did not create these needs; they are a basic part of the human makeup. Wants are the form human needs take as they are shaped by culture and individual personality. An American needs food but wants a Big Mac, fries, and a soft drink. A person in Papua, New Guinea, needs food but wants taro, rice, yams, and pork. Wants are shaped by one’s society and are described in terms of objects that will satisfy those needs. When backed by buying power, wants become demands. Given their wants and resources, people demand products and services with benefits that add up to the most value and satisfaction. Companies go to great lengths to le

What is Marketing?

Top up your skills with Advanced Certificate in Marketing at Ransford Marketing, more than any other business function, deals with customers. Although we will soon explore more-detailed definitions of marketing, perhaps the simplest definition is this one: Marketing is engaging customers and managing profitable customer relationships. The twofold goal of marketing is to attract new customers by promising superior value and to keep and grow current customers by delivering value and satisfaction. For example, Nike leaves its competitors in the dust by delivering on its promise to inspire and help everyday athletes to “Just do it.” Amazon dominants the online marketplace by creating a world-class online buying experience that helps customers to “find and discover anything they might want to buy online.” Facebook has attracted more than 1.5 billion active web and mobile users worldwide by helping them to “connect and share with the people in their lives.” And Coca-Cola has earned an impr

Hear this: Sahara Reporters says "Are Nigerian Christians The Enemy Of Christianity In Nigeria? By Bolaji O. Akinyemi"

Deafening the nation is a noice of confusion coming from the church shouting Islamization agenda! Islamization agenda!! Islamization agenda!!!  Take online courses in Politics at Ransford The falcon is screaming itself out, yet the falconet cannot hear. Justice is judged of her valiant and equity is executed on the street by her own beneficiaries. The center indeed can no longer hold. The voice of the shepherd is lost on the sheep to the subtle momentarily soothing whisper of the hireling luring it to the slaughter slab. Deafening the nation is a noice of confusion coming from the church shouting Islamization agenda! Islamization agenda!! Islamization agenda!!!  Of course this agenda is real but it is not something that noise and empty threat can drown.  Truth must be told this agenda is beyond our country. It's a drive by Islamic fundamentalists to have control of Africa, the strategic position, economy and size of Nigeria makes her a soft target for the realization

Copywriting is not about you

Talk to your readers as if they're  facing you on the other side of a table.  The way to ensure your reader feels you are talking to them is to use one simple little word, over and over. That word is “you.” So in answer to the question that heads this idea, it is about you, if by you we mean the reader not the writer.   Here’s a great press ad for Magnet that begins by talking to the reader and never lets up . . . It’s only by getting to know you, your wants, needs, and desires that Magnet can create kitchens that are as individual as you are.   In 87 words of body copy, “you” or “your” appears eight times. There are just three references to Magnet. In fact that’s just about the perfect ratio of reader:writer at 2.7:1.   Why this works is because from the reader’s perspective, the copy is all about them: their concerns, their motivations, their problems.    It’s like talking to someone at a party who asks you lots of questions about yourself. We always warm to people like that bec

Benetton Story: Big will not beat small any more. It will be the fast beating the slow.

Zara’s advertising budget is 0.03 per cent of its revenues,4 which is very different to Bene

Ryanair is Europe’s most successful low-cost airline, carrying over 65 million consumers, with 563 routes connecting 26 European countries. Ryanair and other low-cost airlines such as easyJet and German Wings have opened up the skies to more passengers and have completely revolutionised air travel.    Since 1994, low-cost airlines have successfully matched a market need by capturing the imagination of overcharged Europeans travellers, tired of costly tickets but good service offered by national ‘flag carriers’ such as British Airways, Air France and Lufthansa.    Consumers all over Europe are happy to have €1 flights to Riga or €5 flights to Warsaw or even free flights to the major European capitals such as London, Paris, Rome, Berlin, Barcelona, Amsterdam and Copenhagen. Led by chief executive Michael O’Leary, Ryanair focuses its company effort on its low-cost marketing strategy , and uses a ra

How Do You Allow Yourself to Be Treated?

After reading this text, join Ransford Education Online to get more Here’s a simple little maxim: You get treated the way you teach people to treat you. So if you don’t like the way you’re being treated by someone in your life, look at how you’ve taught them to treat you.   Self-defeating people see reality for what it is, but they don’t want to accept it. They wish it were different, and they complain about it: “If only you were more like me, then I wouldn’t have to be upset at you right now. If only you were something different from what you are, I could be happier in my life.    If only oil prices hadn’t gone up, if only unemployment weren’t the way it is, if only, if only . . .” They look at the world and come to the conclusion that they should blame somebody else. You can tell by the vocabulary they use, by the very words that come out of their mouths. They say things like, “Please don’t bother me. I can’t—I’m having an anxiety attack.” Now, there is no creature known as anxiet

An Orange and a Candle

After reading this text, join Ransford to get more Think for a minute about an orange. When you squeeze it as hard as you can, what comes out? Orange juice, of course. But the question is, why does juice come out when an orange is squeezed? The answer is, because that is what’s inside.   Now, does it matter who does the squeezing? Does it matter how you do it, what instrument you use, or what time of the day you do it? No. When you squeeze an orange, what always comes out is what’s inside. Similarly, when you squeeze a person—that is, put pressure on them of any kind—and anger and hatred and stress and depression come out, it isn’t because of who is doing the squeezing or when they do it or how they choose to do it. It’s because that is what’s inside that person. If you don’t have it inside, it can never come out, no matter what your circumstances are. When somebody cuts you off on the freeway and you’re mad as hell, it isn’t because they cut you off that you’re so upset; it’s because

Be Open to Everything

Start a Free Online course at Ransford One of the fundamental keys to success and inner peace is allowing yourself to be open to the infinite array of possibilities in your life. This is our topic for today. Having a mind that is open to everything sounds easy until you think about how much conditioning has taken place in your life, and how many of your current thoughts were influenced by geography, the religious beliefs of your ancestors, the color of your skin, the shape of your eyes, the political orientation of your parents, your size, your gender, the schools that were selected for you, and the vocation of your great-grandparents, to list only some possibilities.   You showed up here as a tiny infant capable of an infinite number of potentialities. Many of your choices remain unexplored because of a hopefully well-intentioned conditioning program designed to make you fit the culture of your caretakers. The Miracle Mind-set

(I f you have interest in taking online courses, start a free certificate program at Ransford. )   Refuse to allow yourself to have low expectations about what you’re capable of creating. As Michelangelo suggested, the greater danger is not that your hopes are too high and you fail to reach them; it’s that they’re too low and you do. Have within you an imaginary candle flame that burns brightly regardless of what goes before you. Let this inner flame represent for you the idea that you’re capable of manifesting miracles in your life.   In every single case of a person experiencing a spontaneous healing or overcoming something that was considered to be impossible, the individual went through a complete reversal of personality. They actually rewrote their own agreement with reality. To experience Godlike spontaneous miracles, you must have a sense of yourself as Godlike. The Scriptures say, “With God all things are possible.” Now tell me, what does that leave out?   A mind that’s open t

No One Knows Enough to Be a Pessimist

Find an opportunity to observe a tiny little green sprout emerging from a seed. When you do, allow yourself to feel the awe of what you’re seeing. A famous poet named Rumi observed, “Sell your cleverness and purchase bewilderment.” The scene of an emerging sprout represents the beginning of life. No one on this planet has even a tiny clue as to how all of this works. What is that creative spark that causes the life to sprout? What created the observer, the consciousness, the observation, and perception itself? The questions are endless.   A short while ago, Earthlings in the space program were moving a tiny vehicle on Mars via remote control. Invisible signals took ten minutes to travel through space and arrived to make right turns and instruct a scoop to pick up some Martian real estate to examine. We all marvel at such technological feats. But think about it for a moment. In an endless universe, Mars, our closest neighbor, is the equivalent of moving a billionth of an inch across th

Many of your choices remain unexplored because of a hopefully well-intentioned conditioning program designed to make you fit the culture of your caretakers. You probably had next to no opportunity to disagree with the cultural and societal arrangements made for your life. There may have been some adults who encouraged you to have an open mind, but if you’re honest with yourself, you know that your philosophy of life,
